HRPDC Representation and Funding

The HRPDC represents over 1.6 million people and includes 16 jurisdictions: the cities of Chesapeake, Franklin, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Poquoson, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, and Williamsburg, and the counties of Gloucester, Isle of Wight, James City, Southampton, Surry, and York.  The HRPDC is funded by annual contributions from its member local governments, by appropriations from the Virginia General Assembly, and by grants from federal, state and local governments.

The Hampton Roads Planning District Commission (HRPDC), one of 21 Planning District Commissions in the Commonwealth of Virginia, is a regional organization representing the sixteen local governments in southeastern Virginia.
