Wastewater Management

HRPDC staff facilitates a regional wastewater planning program to develop regional solutions to wastewater management issues identified by the Directors of Utilities Committee in cooperation with the Hampton Roads Sanitation District. Several issues that are being addressed include Sanitary Sewer Overflows and the finalization of a state Regional Consent Order, Grit and Grease Disposal, and the continued development of HR FOG, a regional education effort that is geared towards minimizing the fat, oil, and grease entering the sanitary sewer system.
