Water Regulatory Actions

The Water Resources Department monitors legislative and regulatory actions that impact groundwater and surface water resource management; water, wastewater, and stormwater utility programs; water quality policies and programs; and emerging issues. Staff, on behalf of the region’s localities, serves on a number of federal, state, and regional government advisory committees that guide new legislation and revisions to policies and regulations.

In consultation with HRPDC and its advisory committees, staff monitors regulatory actions, coordinates regional representation, and participates in regulatory advisory panels (RAPs), technical advisory committees (TACs), and stakeholder advisory groups (SAGs).

HRPDC and its advisory committees may issue comment letters, consensus position statements, memoranda, or special reports throughout the regulatory and legislative processes. Please use the links below to access information on current water-related regulatory activities:
