In alignment with both statutory requirements and a desire to ensure that Hampton Roads planning efforts are informed by the public, the HRPDC and HRTPO have developed an updated Public Engagement Plan (PEP). Previous versions of this document were titled Public Participation Plan (PPP). The updated PEP adopts the International Association of Public Participation's (IAP2) spectrum of public participation and aligns the organization's efforts with recommended best practices.
The plan will be available for review and public comment for 73 days (October 17 - December 30). During that time, the HRPDC and HRTPO ask that members of the public and regional stakeholders review the document and provide feedback, especially on how to communicate and engage with the public more effectively in regional planning efforts.
