Green Infrastructure in Hampton Roads, a June 2007 synopsis of green infrastructure activities in the region, is available for download. Green Infrastructure is defined as a planned network of green spaces that benefit wildlife and people and link urban settings to rural ones. The report includes information about the development of conservation corridors in Chesapeake and Virginia Beach through the Southern Watershed Area Management Program, the expansion of green infrastructure planning to the entire region through the Hampton Roads Conservation Corridor Study, and a synopsis of two green infrastructure workshops that were hosted by the HRPDC. In addition, the report contains a set of recommended implementation actions associated with green infrastructure planning in Hampton Roads and several case studies from other communities to illustrate the application of green infrastructure planning
