Community Advisory Committee (CAC)

The Community Advisory Committee (CAC)  serves as an advisory committee to the HRPDC and HRTPO Board. Established in 2010 as the Citizen Transportation Advisory Committee (CTAC), the CAC gives the citizens of our region, a unique opportunity to help guide the transportation planning process and to lend a citizen’s lens through which our process can be viewed.

CAC meetings occur 4 times per year and are comprised of citizen representatives of each locality in Hampton Roads. As with all HRPDC and HRTPO committee meetings, CAC meetings are open to the public and as such, the first moments of each meeting are devoted to a public comment period wherein any member of the public, can share any thoughts and perspective on regional transportation.

The CAC ensures that the voices and perspectives of the public are received by the HRPDC and HRTPO and considered in our planning process.

There are 30 available seats on the CAC. If you are interested in representing your community and would like to view CAC vacancies’ or, if you would like to view information regarding CAC by-laws, meeting dates, archives, and membership see the links below.
