Please join us as we embark on an effort to develop Hampton Roads' first Regional Strategic Plan entitled, Envision Hampton Roads. You are invited to help the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission (HRPDC) develop the values for our region by participating in a Community Values Stakeholders meeting on September 30, 2013, at 10:00 AM in the HRPDC Board Rooms, The Regional Building, 723 Woodlake Drive, Chesapeake. Community values are the cornerstones that will act as the basis for the creation of a set of common goals upon which Envision Hampton Roads will be built. In establishing Hampton Road's values, we will have an opportunity to reflect on the past and determine how our present and future can best support sustainable and cooperative growth in our region. The HRPDC is the regional public agency that represents this area's sixteen local governments and is one of 21 Planning District Commissions in the Commonwealth of Virginia. HRPDC's purpose is to encourage and facilitate local government cooperation and state-local cooperation in addressing regional problems. By Virginia Code, we are authorized to prepare a regional strategic plan for the guidance of Hampton Roads. This plan shall include regional goals and objectives, and strategies to meet those goals. HRPDC will be working with you, our stakeholders, to establish the values of this region through the creation of a Community Values Survey. Your participation in the Community Values Stakeholder meeting will help ensure that this survey and Envision Hampton Roads will be a success. Meeting Agenda
