6. Discussion on identifying the most important issues facing the Region
The main topic and central theme of the 2014 HRPDC retreat will be to identify important regional issues. Board members will be asked to provide input and direction in this process by engaging in a facilitated discussion on various regional trends, issues and topics. Mayor Wright and Mr. Farmer will provide an overview of the Retreat format and begin the discussion.
During a break for a working lunch, staff will compile the results of the top regional issues. After lunch, the results of the discussion will be reported to the Board and finalized.
Staff will also solicit input and guidance from Board members on how the HRPDC can better communicate its programs and tools to support localities. The Board members will also be asked to provide direction regarding new techniques for meeting formats and communication strategies for the HRPDC.
Mr. Farmer will then wrap up the retreat with a brief summary of next steps. In addition, HRPDC Chairman Kenneth Wright will seek the Commission’s guidance to move forward on this initiative.
