2018 Nonprofit Security Grant Opportunity - Hampton Roads

The Hampton Roads Planning District Commission would like to invite all 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations within Hampton Roads to apply for the FY 2018 Urban Area Security Initiative Nonprofit Grant.

The grant provides funding for target hardening activities for nonprofit organizations of high-risk of a terrorist attack. See below for more information.

Application Components:

Applicants must submit their applications no later than Friday, June 15, 2018 at 11:59:59 PM EDT to Jsadler@hrpdcva.gov

  1. Applicants must develop a formal investment justification (link below) that addresses each investment being proposed for funding. The IJ must address an identified risk, including threat and vulnerability, and build or sustain a core capability identified in the Goal. The IJ must demonstrate the ability to provide enhancements consistent with the purpose of the program and guidance provided by FEMA.
  1. Applicants must also provide a “mission statement” described on pg. 12 of the NOFO, which explains the nature of the applicant organization’s purpose and mission. This will primarily be used to validate the organization’s type identified in the IJ as either: 1) Ideology-based/spiritual/religious; 2) Educational; 3) Medical; or 4) Other.
  1. Applicants must also provide the vulnerability/risk assessment on which the request in the application is based (see pg. 12 of the NOFO).
