2017-01 Resolution: HRPDC Supporting Continued Full Funding of the Chesapeake Bay Program

At its July 20, 2017 board meeting, the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission (HRPDC) passed a resolution supporting continued full funding of the Chesapeake Bay Program.  The HRPDC recognizes the value of the Chesapeake Bay to the economy and quality of life to all regions along the Bay, and in collaboration with federal agencies and other Chesapeake Bay jurisdictions, has invested millions of dollars and implemented policies and programs to restore the water quality of the Chesapeake Bay watershed.  Federal reductions in funding for the Chesapeake Bay Program would risk slowing or reversing the process made to date. The resolution respectfully requests local, state and federal support in continuing to provide full funding of the Chesapeake Bay Program.
