York County Board of Supervisors Member and HRPDC representative Tom Shepperd was recently elected to the Virginia Association of Planning District Commission’s (VAPDC) Board of Directors for 2014-2015. The elections took place at the VAPDC's 2014 Summer Conference and Annual Meeting in Williamsburg, Virginia. Shepperd’s selection marks a re-election as he joined the VAPDC Board in 2012. VAPDC Directors serve one year terms and are up for re-election each year during the organization’s annual meeting.
The VAPDC’s mission is to bring diverse resources together at the regional level in partnership with local, state, and federal entities to strengthen regions and the Commonwealth. It encompasses more than 200 cities, counties, and other local governments represented in Virginia’s 21 PDCs/regional councils statewide.
