HRPDC Assists Town of Windsor With Comprehensive Plan Update

The HRPDC Planning staff assisted the Town of Windsor with its recently adopted (July 2016) Comprehensive Plan Update.  The plan takes a 20-year look into the future and is updated every 5 years.  Windsor’s Comp Plan sets goals, objectives, & strategies for Community Appearance, Economic Development, Transportation, the Environment, Future Land Use, Housing and Community Development.

HRPDC staff provides such technical assistance to it member jurisdictions on a regular basis.  This assistance is usually on a short-term basis and includes, among others, projects such as:

  • Development of grant applications,
  • Review of plans and studies,
  • Geographical information systems technical support,
  • Assistance with regulatory proposals,
  • Facilitation of various local and agency initiatives, and
  • Analysis of state and federal actions.

The Town of Windsor is located in Isle of Wight County, just west of the City of Suffolk border, about 30 miles from the center of the Hampton Roads metropolitan area. The Town is located at the crossroads of U.S. Route 460 and U.S. Route 258.
