The HRPDC will be hosting a meeting for DEQ in our Regional Boardroom on January 31, 2014 at 1pm. In conjunction with the new Construction General Permit, the implementation of revised stormwater technical criteria, and the adoption of local government stormwater programs, DEQ has been preparing an e-permitting system to process Virginia Stormwater Management Program (VSMP) permits for construction. DEQ recently announced that the system will only be open to local government staff. Developers and contractors applying for permits will have to submit necessary permit information to locality staff for entry into the State database. Fred Cunningham, Director DEQ Office of Water Permits, will provide attendees with an update on recent developments and a schedule for rollout of the system. DEQ is interested in gathering input from locality staff on end user needs. Persons interested in attending should register here by January 28, 2014.
