The Hampton Roads Planning District Commission (HRPDC) is requesting input on the draft Regional Solid Waste Management Plan (SWMP) for Southeastern Virginia 2017-2040. The public input period begins August 3, 2017 and will extend to August 25, 2017. In addition, a public meeting on the draft Plan will be held Thursday, August 10, 2017, 6 PM, at the HRPDC Board Room, 723 Woodlake Drive, Chesapeake, VA 23320.
The draft SWMP describes the Southeastern Virginia Region’s integrated strategy for the management of solid waste generated within the Region to the year 2040. The current adopted Plan was developed and written by the HRPDC, as well as managed and amended from time to time to reflect changes to solid waste management in the Region. The draft Plan has also been developed and written by the HRPDC.
Those interested also can submit written statements to be considered in completion of the draft SWMP prior to the public meeting. Statements should be mailed to Clay Bernick, HRPDC, 723 Woodlake Drive, Chesapeake, VA, 23320 or emailed to email@example.com by August 25, 2017. These will be part of HRPDC’s permanent record. All interested parties are asked to review the draft Regional Solid Waste Management Plan for Southeastern Virginia. Copies of the plan will be available at the HRPDC offices and on the HRPDC website, www.hrpdcva.gov on August 3, 2017.
All citizens are invited to be present at the public meeting to be held at the time and place stated above, where an opportunity will be given for them to be heard.
