2016 HR PRSA Pinnacle Awards Presented to the HRPDC

The Hampton Roads Planning District Commission was presented with four Pinnacle Awards from the Hampton Roads Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America in recognition of a variety of public relations tactics used by the agency. The HRPDC Communications staff accepted the awards at the PRSA Annual Awards Luncheon on June 8, 2016 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.

What Does Water Mean to You?” a series of videos produced by the askHRgreen.org campaign won First Place and a video detailing the agency’s regional strategic planning initiative, ENVISION Hampton Roads, took Second Place in the video programs category.  askHRgreen.org, in partnership with Coastal Virginia Magazine also received a Second Place award for the Green Living Magazine 2015 and the HRPDC’s Little Book of Big Data garnered Second Place for publications.

“This was our first year to submit to the Pinnacle awards and we were absolutely thrilled to be recognized.  So many of our efforts are done on such small budgets that it's often difficult to stand out in the crowd, but our great communications team at the HRPDC has been really creative and stretched every dollar we have, even producing one of these products with a budget of zero dollars,” said HRPDC Executive Director Bob Crum.

“The greatest honor is having your work recognized by a group of your peers,” said Joe Turner, HRPDC Communications Manager and PRSA Hampton Roads member.
