The Hampton Roads Disabilities Board (HRDB) is holding a training forum on Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), June 29-30, 2015, at the Regional Board Room at the HRPDC offices, 723 Woodlake Drive, Chesapeake, VA 23320.
Title II applies to State and local government entities, and, in subtitle A, protects qualified individuals with disabilities from discrimination on the basis of disability in services, programs, and activities provided by State and local government entities.
The first day of training, June 29th, from 1-4pm, is tailored for advocates, who can expect to learn the key components of Title II including:
The second day of training, June 30th, from 9am-4pm is designed for State and Local workers, including subcontractors and developers. The day-long training includes the components found in the advocate training as well as additional information on making buildings and other environments accessible. This information includes access to services, alterations and new construction.
Participants will be only allowed to register for the advocate training or the state and local officials training. Registration will be open through close of business, June 26, 2015. To register for either day, go HERE.
