Regional Building to Host DCR Stormwater Meeting

Regional Building to host Dcr Stormwater Metting

Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) will be holding a Stormwater Management Regulation Outreach meeting on July 12, 2012 from 12:30 – 3:30 pm in the HRPDC Regional Boardroom. The content of this meeting will be similar to the DCR webinar that the HRPDC hosted for local government staff on June 7, 2012.

Localities in Virginia must have Soil and Water Conservation Board approved stormwater programs in place by July 1, 2014. Starting on that date, all Construction General Permit applications will be reviewed and approved by local governments rather than DCR.

DCR staff will review the three major components of the revised stormwater regulations: local program implementation, water quality criteria changes, and changes to water quantity criteria. Staff will also review a timeline for local program adoption and provide an overview and update on the ePermitting system that will be used by DCR and localities to track Construction General Permit applications.
