Last Call for 2013 Annual Recycling Rate Information

Recylcing ArrowsIn 2010 the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission (HRPDC) was designated as the South Hampton Roads Solid Waste Planning Agency.   As part of that designation, HRPDC is required to submit an annual Recycling Rate Report to the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality on behalf of South Hampton Roads.

The results of this report are significant because it ultimately determines the annual Recycling Rate for the entire South Hampton Roads Region.  That rate is then compared to other Regions in Virginia and included in VDEQ’s yearly report.   It is also important that the Region’s annual Recycling Rate meets or exceeds the rate that is outlined in the Region’s Solid Waste Management Plan.  Therefore, it is extremely important that we have an accurate representation of who is recycling in the Region.  If your company or organization has not submitted its Annual Recycling Rate report please click the link below to download a blank 2013 Annual Recycling Rate Data Form and email it back to Jai McBride as soon as possible.   Additionally, if you did not receive the Recycling Rate data solicitation letter and would like to be included in the distribution list, please send your contact information to Jai McBride (jmbride@hrpdcva.gov).
