Sunshine Week (March 10-16) is a national initiative that promotes the importance of open government and freedom of information. There are a variety of ways Hampton Roads local governments and the HRPDC are making information available to the public. Making information easily accessible comes in a variety of formats and area residents can choose the options that appeal to them most. So watch a meeting on television, rather than making the trip to city hall, sign up for an email blast or access documents online all on your schedule. These simple tasks will give you more input into how your elected officials govern.
