FishSwimPlay.com Promotes Water Access Sites

FishSwimPlay.com LogoOn March 15, 2018, the HRPDC launched a new interactive map called FishSwimPlay.com to promote public access to water in Hampton Roads. The map allows visitors to find public access sites for boating/kayaking, swimming, fishing, and viewing the water throughout the region. Visitors can search sites by name, location, or type of access. The easy-to-use map can also be accessed with mobile devices.

FishSwimPlay.com is the public outreach component of the Regional Strategic Plan for Public Access to Waterways in Hampton Roads, which was recently completed by HRPDC staff. This study will support local government efforts to implement new public access sites by providing data and analysis on the current state of public access in the region. The plan and interactive map were partially funded by a grant from the Virginia Coastal Zone Management Program.
