This year attendees were addressed by keynote speaker, Dr. Barb Bisset, Director of the Emergency Services Institute at WakeMed in Raleigh, NC. Dr. Bisset shared the knowledge and experience she acquired through eight hurricanes and multiple disaster medical response operations.

The seminar also included presentations on:

  • Eastern Virginia Healthcare Coalition

  • Incident Command System: Putting it to work in your facility
  • Information Sharing and Regulatory Waivers During and After a Disaster
  • Logistics Planning Essentials
  • Improving Facility Resilience with the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

The HOEPS 2013 seminars were well attended with 154 attendees and 15 emergency managers participating in the events.
