The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) is requesting public input for the next update of the Virginia Outdoors Plan (VOP). The VOP is the state’s comprehensive plan for land conservation, outdoor recreation, and open-space planning and it is updated every five years. The VOP supports all levels of government as they work to meet recreation and conservation needs across the state. The input received lets planners know the recreation priorities of Virginians and specifically, Hampton Roads. The VOP Outdoor Recreation Survey is available through December 13, 2021. Please take a few moments to fill out the survey and share the link with others.
The existing 2017 VOP is available here. The updated version is expected to be released in 2023.
