Multiple Events Across the Region to Celebrate America Recycles Day on Saturday, November 15th

America Recycles Day 2014 LogoAmerica Recycles Day is the only nationally-recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States. Please join in the celebration this year by participating in one of the many recycling education and collection events happening across the region. No matter where you live in Hampton Roads, there’s an America Recycles Day event near you!

There will be several recycling collection events on Saturday, November 15th. Each location will be accepting unwanted electronics like computers, cell phones, DVD players/VCRs, and stereos (but no TVs, please). Additional items will be collected at each event, but accepted items will vary by location and may include household hazardous waste collection, document shredding, plastic bag recycling and donation of unwanted household items like clothes, shoes, furniture and kitchenware. Limit is one truckload per person. For a complete listing of what will be accepted at each location, visit the America Recycles Day page at askHRgreen.org.

Special thanks to event partners Goodwill, Shred-It, and VersAbility Resources for helping us inspire Hampton Roads residents to recycle more, trash less for America Recycles Day – and every day!
