Living with Water: Open House on Flood Insurance

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region III, the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, the Virginia Department of Emergency Management, and the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission are hosting an open house, Living with Water: The Future of Flood Insurance in Virginia, on Tuesday, December 4th. The open house will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the HRPDC offices at 723 Woodlake Drive, Chesapeake, VA.

Living with Water will provide to Hampton Roads area residents and property owners information about flood risk and flood insurance coverage in Virginia. The event will include informational tables where residents and property owners can meet one-on-one with FEMA and State and local agency staff to review flood risk maps and discuss flood insurance and other hazard mitigation measures.  Informational publications will be available and appointments for future follow-up by FEMA National Flood Insurance Program staff will also be encouraged.

Members of the Hampton Roads community interested in attending the open house should register online.
