Bureau of Economic Analysis Releases Latest Personal Income Data

On Monday, November 26, the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) released the latest Local Area Personal Income data, providing data revisions for 2009-10 and new data for 2011. According to the BEA, personal income in the Hampton Roads MSA grew 5% from 2010 to 2011 (compared to a national growth rate of 5.2%) placing it in the middle quintile of income growth among metropolitan areas. The Per Capita Income for Hampton Roads in 2011 was $41,976, ranking 77th highest of the nation’s 366 metropolitan areas.

This latest BEA data release provides a host of local income data for localities across the nation and can be accessed online at http://www.bea.gov/regional/index.htm.
