On Monday, November 26, the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) released the latest Local Area Personal Income data, providing data revisions for 2009-10 and new data for 2011. According to the BEA, personal income in the Hampton Roads MSA grew 5% from 2010 to 2011 (compared to a national growth rate of 5.2%) placing it in the middle quintile of income growth among metropolitan areas. The Per Capita Income for Hampton Roads in 2011 was $41,976, ranking 77th highest of the nation’s 366 metropolitan areas.
