The Hampton Roads Housing Consortium (HRHC) held the organization’s Seventh Annual Members’ Housing Awards today where this year’s award recipients were honored. These awards recognize individuals and organizations that have contributed to improving housing conditions for the region.
This year’s award winners are:
HRHC Lifetime Achievement Award -Lori Miller - Executive Director- Our House Families
HRHC Housing Warrior -Sheila Doplemore -Business Development Officer- Virginia Housing Development Authority
HRHC Housing Partner- Special Project Award -Virginia Supportive Housing - Heron's Landing SRO
HRHC Across the Region Service Award- Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia, Inc.
The Awards Breakfast was held at the Chesapeake Conference Center. Heather Crislip, Executive Director of Housing Opportunities Made Equal (H.O.M.E.) was the event’s keynote speaker. The event’s honorary mistress of ceremonies was Barbara Hamm Lee of WHRO’s Another View.
As part of the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission’s programs and mission, our staff supports the work of our regional housing consortium, the Hampton Roads Housing Consortium (HRHC). HRHC is a voluntary association of governmental, private, and non-profit organizations and individuals committed to improving affordable housing opportunities in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia. Members include city and county governments, Redevelopment and Housing Authorities, non-profit housing and emergency shelter providers, mortgage lenders, realtors, builder associations, and a variety of other groups and individuals interested in housing issues. Member groups represent most of the sixteen communities within the Hampton Roads Region of Southeast Virginia.
