The Hampton Roads Disabilities Board (HRDB) is holding a free seminar entitled; “The Americans With Disabilities Act: For Everyone, Everyday.” This free informative session is designed to provide participants with basic principles and core concepts of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA).The session is slated to discuss changes in law since 2010 and also provide a forum to discuss how the Hampton Roads region can address the needs of the disability community more effectively. HRDB, formerly the South Hampton Roads Disability Services Board, is staff supported by the HRPDC. While the actual state program was discontinued in 2009, the HRDB has worked diligently to continue to assist in identifying and addressing the needs of persons with physical and sensory disabilities.
