October 29th is National Prescription Take Back day
. As part of the national initiative led by the US Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration, police stations across Hampton Roads will accept all prescription and over-the-counter medications from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. Proper disposal of prescription drugs is paramount for protecting our waterways and for keeping prescription drugs out of the wrong hands. Last year the National Prescription Drug Take Back Days, held on September 25, 2010 and April 25, 2011, collected more than 309 tons of pills through the involvement of nearly, 4 state and local law enforcement agencies throughout the nation.
