HRPDC Releases Latest Regional Benchmarking Study

Cover Image from the Hampton Roads Regional Benchmarking Study. The HRPDC presented the Hampton Roads Regional Benchmarking Study at its October 2018 meeting. The Study is an annual publication produced by the HRPDC Planning and Economics staff. This is the 13th year the Study has been produced.

The Code of Virginia calls for Planning District Commissions to collect and maintain demographic, economic and other data concerning the region and member localities, and act as a State Data Center affiliate in cooperation with the Virginia Employment Commission (VEC).

In keeping with this mandate, the HRPDC staff produces the annual Regional Benchmarking Study. This report includes a locality profile for the 17 jurisdictions as well as graphical illustrations for over 150 regional benchmarks covering the economy, demographics, real estate, transportation, education, government finances, and various quality of life indicators. Each graph accompanied by a brief explanation regarding the purpose of the benchmark and the current condition in Hampton Roads.

The Study is available on the Commission's website. Click the cover image above or the text link below to review.
