On Thursday, October 13th, The Hampton Roads Housing Consortium (HRHC) celebrated the 2016 HRHC Housing Award recipients at the Renaissance Hotel in Downtown Portsmouth. The occasion also served as a commemoration of the HRHC’s 20th Anniversary.
The Hampton Roads Housing Awards recognize individuals and organizations that have contributed to improving housing conditions for the region. This year’s recipients are:,

HRHC Lifetime Achievement Award
Angela Whitehead - Seniors Unlimited Lifestyles Inc.
HRHC Housing Warrior
City of Norfolk - Rent Ready Program
HRHC Housing Partner- Special Project Award
Sharon Shoff - Second Act Communities
HRHC Across the Region Service Award
Third District, U.S. Congressman Robert "Bobby" Scott provided the keynote address for this event.
"Once again, the work of our award honorees proudly showcases the best the Region has to offer in advocating and supporting affordable housing opportunities for all in Hampton Roads,' said HRHC Chair, Karen P. Munden. "Diverse and inclusive housing opportunities are critical in addressing all spectrums of housing needs from affordable community development, services for the homeless, quality rental opportunities, and programs that serve our vulnerable populations."
The HRHC receives staffing support from the HRPDC.
