The 2016 Hampton Roads Water Symposium hosted by the United States Geologic Survey (USGS) and the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission (HRPDC) was held on September 20, 2016 at the HRPDC. The Symposium was designed to promote technology transfer and information sharing among scientists and water managers working in the Hampton Roads region. The presentations highlighted state-of-the-art data monitoring, innovative techniques, and the latest developments in our understanding of water-related issues facing coastal Virginia. The Symposium was attended by nearly 100 professionals representing local governments, the Hampton Roads Sanitation District, the Department of the Navy, universities, and consultants.
