Each year, HRHC recognizes the work of individuals and organizations that demonstrate commitment and dedication to improving the lives of families and the well-being of communities through recognition that households of all income levels deserve a fair opportunity to buy or rent housing that is safe, decent, affordable, and suitable for their needs. This marks the seventh year for this event and will take place on October 10, 2013 at 9:00 am at the Chesapeake Conference Center in Chesapeake, Virginia. This event averages 100 attendees from across the Hampton Roads region.
As part of the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission’s programs and mission, our staff supports the work of our regional housing consortium, the Hampton Roads Housing Consortium (HRHC). HRHC is a voluntary association of governmental, private, and non-profit organizations and individuals committed to improving affordable housing opportunities in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia. Members include city and county governments, Redevelopment and Housing Authorities, non-profit housing and emergency shelter providers, mortgage lenders, realtors, builder associations, and a variety of other groups and individuals interested in housing issues. Member groups represent most of the sixteen communities within the Hampton Roads Region of Southeast Virginia.
