ACCOUNTING MANAGER I – Starting Salary:  $58,000 - $60,000 DOE/DOQ

The Hampton Roads Planning District Commission (HRPDC) is seeking a candidate for the position of Accounting Manager to perform advanced accounting, financial, and payroll duties. This position requires demonstrated experience in the use of QuickBooks Pro (desktop) as well as other accounting systems software.  The Accounting Manager works closely with the Chief Financial Officer and other Finance Department staff to ensure organizational policies and procedures are being adhered to as they pertain to accounting and financial matters.  The individual performs accounts payable duties for the HRPDC and other regional organizations - including setting up new vendors and maintaining the vendors list, paying invoices and ensuring accuracy of vendor payments. This position will process payroll for other regional agencies and will also assist with the year-end pre-audit and final audit preparation by preparing individual schedules of all required data. The successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to assist Finance Department staff with additional duties that may be assigned.

Senior Transportation Planner/Engineer - Starting Salary $70,000 - $75,000 DOE/DOQ

The HRTPO is seeking a Senior Transportation Planner/Engineer. This position will support a broad range of advanced transportation-related planning and analysis using principles of scenario planning, project prioritization, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) via a collaborative stakeholder process to develop innovative and equitable multimodal transportation solutions for the region.

The Senior Transportation Planner/Engineer position requires strong critical thinking skills to analyze and interpret technical and spatial data.  Candidates should be highly motived, creative problem-solvers with excellent time management.  This position functions as both a team member and a team leader and requires the ability to work well with diverse stakeholders as well as professional and support staff.  Excellent communication skills are needed, including the ability to clearly convey and visualize technical analyses and recommendations through engaging reports and presentations.

IT Manager – Starting Salary $70,000-$75,000 DOE/DOQ

The Hampton Roads Planning District Commission (HRPDC) is seeking a candidate for the position of Information Technology (IT) Manager to coordinate, plan, organize and implement all IT-related activities of a regional planning office in coordination with a managed IT services provider.  This position is responsible for all aspects of the organization’s technology needs including servers, workstations, portable laptops, network, internet, phone system, video conferencing equipment, audio recording of meetings and the IT budget. The IT Manager works closely with the organization’s managed IT services provider in maintaining the organization’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting daily IT and audio-visual (AV) needs.  The successful candidate will have Bachelor’s degree with considerable professional experience (6-8 years) in the IT field with similar knowledge, skills and abilities. Applicable, current IT certifications desired.
